Wayne Noyes-Goode is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who once worked with the Police Department.  His father and his before him were law-enforcement officers, in fact if you can bear to read through to the end you may see that every male ancestor he has once served the law in one form or another.  For Wayne law enforcement just didn’t hold the promise it had for the others who’ve gone before him.  He always wanted to ‘be somebody’ to make a difference differently but has he taken on a bit more than he bargained for in his latest endeavor?

Wayne meets the seven-years-old boy who has been relegated to the care of the state mental hospital because he was found to be responsible for the deaths of many of his fellow human beings.  His victims include many, not the least of which were his own mother and the two-year-old baby boy of his seventeen-year-old obsession Monica.  This boy cannot even remember himself when his love for Monica began but he knows that when she becomes pregnant with this child, the father of the infant must be put to death to make way for a love he’s certain was written in the stars.  The real shock is that Monica never wanted to keep the baby wishing instead that she could have aborted it – did her wish come true two years too late?

As Wayne spends several weeks researching the boy’s past he finds sexual abuse suffered upon him by his own parents, exposure to witchcraft dating back centuries in the town Wayne has called home like every ancestor in the Goode Family line since europeans arrived on the continent, and perhaps he is himself a bit too close to young Monica’s lifestyle himself.
